Q1: With the humility of John the Baptist, what was he doing and how did the Jews understand his baptism with water?
What was the context for John's baptism. Do the Jewish people, either at the time of John or even today have a baptism that is equivalent to Christian baptism?

Q2: In John 4:2, it says that Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples.  Did Jesus baptize anyone?

Q3: In John 3:5, Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."  How can people who never knew of Jesus be saved?
