Blessed Sacrament Parish, through the St. Bernard Women’s Guild and our Justice & Peace Ministry, is working with local social workers and organizations to provide school supplies and gift cards for children in need in our area.
If you would like to donate school supplies,
there will be a box marked “School Supply Collection” in the St. Bernard Church Hall for items to be dropped off on the weekends of August 1/2 and August 8/9.
Items needed are new or nearly-new backpacks, pens, pencils, erasers, spiral notebooks, and packages of underwear (male & female, ages 4-14).
If you would like to donate gift cards:
place the gift cards in an envelope clearly labeled “Justice and Peace School Supply Collection” and drop it in the collection basket at any Mass on the weekends of August 8/9 or August 22/23.
Gift cards in increments of $25 or less are requested. Preferred stores are Walmart, Target, and Kohl's.
You can also support our Haiti Mission by purchasing gift cards at the BSP Gift Card Sale on the weekend of August 15/16. You can designate that the cards go to this collection, and you will not need to pick them up; they will be given directly to the Justice and Peace ministry.
