October 25th—November 11th
Recently, Pope Leo XIV shared his views concerning migrants and refugees as “witnesses of hope” and in his apostolic exhortation, “Dilexi Te”, he urges Catholics to counter indifference and discrimination with “gestures of closeness and welcome” and to see Christ in every rejected migrant.
At Blessed Sacrament Parish we have the opportunity to reach out in solidarity with those displaced in our community. Collection boxes will be in the basement of both churches, marked “clothing for refugees”. We are looking for new or gently used coats, scarves, hats, gloves, boots. Items will be donated to IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigration Services) in New Haven.
